Surrounded by the Township of Raritan, Flemington is a charming small town complete with tree-lined streets and historical buildings and best of all, it's filled with friendly people. The seat of Hunterdon County, Flemington is also well known for its numerous outlets and excellent restaurants but its not all shopping and food. With its mix of Greek revival and Victorian architecture, sixty percent of the buildings in its historic district are on the National Register of Historic Places. One of Flemingtons grander buildings, the Hudson County Courthouse, was the site of the Trial of the Century in 1935 when Bruno Hauptmann was tried and convicted for the kidnapping Charles Lindberghs son.
